Profile of Instructor
|
| |
Jestina M. Hong, also known as Mona Ang,
is a specialist in Handmade Jewellery with over ten years experience.
She currently lives in her country of birth, Singapore. Since
childhood, she has a strong inclination towards creative art and enjoys
experimenting in artistic pursuits which would allow her to express
herself.
In the mid 90s, her passion for jewellery art
prompted her to devote her time specializing in handmade jewellery
where she later progressed to own a business trading in fashion
accessories.
Besides spending time attending to her
jewellery trading business and designing custom made jewellery pieces,
she conducts workshops in various clubs and organisations to assist
persons who are interested in the art of jewellery creation.
She reads and travel frequently throughout the region in search of the
latest jewellery creation techniques and latest fashion trends.
Her first book entitled, ‘Enchanting Handmade Jewellery: DIY Guide to Creating Jewellery from Crystal Beads & Pearls’
was published in early January 2005. This publication was a success
among hobbyists and was duly followed by her second volume entitled, ‘Wonderful Handmade Jewellery: cool designs to make and wear’.
These informative DIY books showcase her jewellery creation and at the
same time, serve as a vehicle for her to share her knowledge and
experience with like-minded hobbyists globally. |
 |
|
| |
Her
reasons for conducting workshops are to promote jewellery art as a
hobby and to establish friendship among people through group
interaction.
In 20th June 2005, she was invited by People’s Association to become a trainer (registered as ‘Mona Ang’) for the following courses at CCs and RC centres:
- Jewellery Making
- Modern Living-Jewellery Art and Creation
Other then conducting full-session courses, she is also active in
conducting one-off 3 hrs jewellery making workshops in club houses and
other associations.
Her current and past engagements include:
The American Club, Singapore Island C Club, Tanamerah C Club, MFA, HomeTeam Club, Civil Service Club,
ICPAS, OCBC,
